Japanese plates are just the ticket for gallery walls!

Gallery walls continue to rage in popularity. The gallery wall tradition stems from ancient English country houses, where paintings were hung from floor to ceiling. When families dated back for centuries the accumulated art demanded any and all wall space.

Today's gallery walls tend to be a bit more planned, arranged, and intentional. Ideas abound. Pristine, square-shaped galleries in which every frame is the same size and color appeal to those requiring order and symmetry. Variations stem from there: oddly-shaped outlines, plates, animal antlers, and unexpected pieces make the gallery a display space for quirky personality statements.

.Today's gallery walls offer home designers an opportunity to let their individuality shine. Today I would like to propose a gallery wall of antique Japanese art plates. Such a display would exude color, personality, and good taste without going over the top into the land of the bizarre.

TLS Living has a large collection of Japanese statement plates to make your walls say 'wow."
